Workflow

Oracle Workflow is a complete BPM solution, included in the Oracle database. Its technology allows to constantly model, automate and improve the business processes, to provide any type of route information according to a set of rules defined by the user.

  • Workflow engine — a workflow engine built into the Oracle database that implements process definitions at run time. The workflow engine is accessible through a PL/SQL or Java API that allows other applications to report workflow status changes.
  • Oracle Workflow Builder: A graphical tool that allows workflow developers to create, view or modify business processes in a simple way. Using Workflow Builder, you can create, modify all workflow objects as activities, predefined types, and messages.
  • Business Event System — a service that uses the Oracle Advanced queuing (AQ) infrastructure to communicate system events between businesses.
  • Workflow Definitions Loader: A tool that allows you to migrate workflow definition between the database. Especially useful for migrating workflow definitions from development/test environments to production.
  • Oracle Workflow Monitor: A Java-based Web application that allows you to view and monitor the progress of a particular work item, as well as different reports or summaries for workflow work items and each process activity.

It has several functionalities:

  • Tensile — includes PL/SQL procedures or external functions such as workflow activities.
  • Electronic notifications: Use these notifications to involve individuals in the defined workflow. These notifications can be assigned to a single person or to a role (group of people) and are consulted by any mail tool.
  • Web Access: Incorporates this module, in which the different types of user can access the list of job notifications in detail and provide a response to the system.
